Dying with Dignity workshop Friday

Dying with Dignity — a discussion on end of life issues and a workshop on creating a living will will be held Friday, Oct. 23.

Hosted by the Halton-Peel Humanist Society (HPHC), the free event is at 7 p. m. in the Acorn Grill at Oakville Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Rd.

Guest speaker is Ruth von Fuchs, president of the Right to Die Society.

There will also be discussion of the private member's Bill C-384 on the topic.

Evolution key to understanding: prof

Dr Jason WalesLearning about the theory of evolution is important for anyone who is interested in science. That's what University of Syracuse biology professor Dr. Jason Wiles told community members during a lecture held yesterday to honour the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth. The event was held in the Central Library's Noel Ryan Auditorium and hosted by the Halton-Peel Humanist Community and the Mississauga Freethought Association.

Dr Jason WilesTo mark the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth, the Mississauga Freethought Association and the Halton-Peel Humanist Community are hosting a special event at the Central Library's Noel Ryan Auditorium Feb. 10, starting at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Jason Wiles from the University of Syracuse will speak about evolution education in North America.
